EVM

The execution environment for Ethereum smart contracts.

Finality

The property that an accepted history is considered settled under the network’s rules.

Gas

A unit measuring execution work on networks that use this model.

Hash

A digest computed from data by a hash function.

Invariant

A property that should remain true across a system’s permitted states.

Mint

Creating tokens; on Solana, also the account that defines a token.

Nonce

A value used, for example, to order operations or prevent replaying an authorisation.

Oracle

A mechanism that supplies external data to a contract.

PDA

An address derived from a Solana program and seeds, without a corresponding ordinary private key.

Recovery phrase

A sequence of words often used to reconstruct several keys. Protect it as a critical secret.

RPC

A remote-call interface for querying a node and submitting operations.

Reentrancy

Calling back into a contract while an initial operation is still running.

Slippage

The difference between an estimated swap outcome and the actual result, depending on context.

Smart contract

A program executed according to a blockchain’s rules.

Stablecoin

A token that aims to remain stable relative to a reference. This objective is not a guarantee.

Testnet

A network intended for testing, separate from production.

Wallet

An interface for managing keys and interacting with a network.
